Isolate Island  Diary

This project is an attempt to explore the inner plight of Sudanese refugee youth, using art as a means of cultural exchange…

The project will collaborate with some young Sudanese refugee artists to build a safe dialogue environment, so that they can express themselves, and have more spaces for expression, as well as a space to understand their true situation and their own demands.

The project will include several cultural events in the framework of a series of short films, performances, an art exhibition, workshops, and open talks, all aiming to present and interpret what refugee youth go through and their connection to Sudanese culture through contemporary art events.

In the first phase
the project will consist of three workshops that will result in a performance that combines the arts of Sudanese and contemporary dance, and the arts of singing, storytelling and acting.

Isolate Island  Diary

Home.. it's the past, the way forward, it's about where we come from.. about who we are..? By the end of April 2021,
the number of Sudanese refugees and asylum seekers registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Egypt reached 69,782 refugees.
And the shock of history, and the unique cultural impact of Sudan, this project is an attempt to discover the new generation of Sudan and its future..

The youth, on the journey of the future, and how can they find a balance between themselves, their country, and the unknown?
Leaving the motherland with refugee status inevitably means facing difficult self-aware reconstruction, and discovering their inner life experience in the process is not only an important step for them to embrace themselves, but can also provide a profound way of thinking about the current global humanitarian crisis.
